The same technology that makes crypto trustless—cryptographic signatures, timestamping, and decentralized storage—can anchor content authenticity. Imagine a future where every page carries a digital watermark tied to a wallet address, with the author’s “reputation” staked in a smart contract. The C2PA standard is a start, but it’s centralized. We need a modular, on-chain verification layer.

I’ve been experimenting with this idea since my mid-2024 modular blockchain curiosity. I wrote three threads on Celestia’s data availability sampling, and one of them accidentally leaked to a major outlet. The takeaway: modular architectures can embed verification at the data layer.
